About
EIL
Electrical Industries Limited
was initially in 1969, as a joint
venture between A.E.I Compounds of the United Kingdom and a local
firm. From its inception, the company has been credited as the
pioneer of the local cable manufacturing industry. In 1997 upon its
acquisition by Trinidad Electrical Manufacturing Corporation
Limited, EIL consolidated its manufacturing prowess with the
marketing and distribution expertise of Electrical Distributors
Limited, another TEMCO company. Today, EIL enjoys the distinction of
being the only regional company whose business portfolio combines
the manufacture of electrical cables, electrical switchgear and the
distribution of electrical construction materials.
The organisation's corporate
offices and Manufacturing Complex are now centralized at Tumpuna
Road, Arima. The cable production plant occupies approximately
100,000 square feet and is equipped with advanced manufacturing
technologies including multiple-strand wire drawing and stranding
systems. The switchgear plant utilizes approximately 25,000 square
feet and its automated processes include superior assembly and
powder finishing systems. Warehousing facilities at Chaguanas add
another 42,000 square feet of available space. The company's
marketing department consists of the Export Sales Division and the
Domestic Sales Division. Today, approximately 50% of product is sold
locally with the balance sold internationally. The Human Resource
complement at EIL is presently two hundred employees.
